Potter Park Zoo Spring Update 2021

On behalf of Potter Park Zoo and the Potter Park Zoological Society, we want to thank you for your unwavering support through this uniquely challenging year. Our dedicated staff rose to the challenge and found new, safe ways to provide excellent care for the animals who call Potter Park Zoo home. Your support and commitment made it possible.

Despite the challenges, we are looking up and moving forward. The safety of visitors, staff, and animals has always been our top priority, and in the last year we have made it our goal to go above and beyond including the establishment of new safety protocols.

The coming months will include education programs and zoo events put on hold in 2020. In 2021, we are:

  • Welcoming back our campers for the start of Zookambi summer camp in June.
  • Debuting Zoo Nights – a modified version of our adults-only Wine & Stein event. Zoo Nights will be hosted on four, safe and socially distanced occasions throughout the summer.
  • Celebrating with our incredible supporters at Members Night in August.

Potter Park Zoo has long been a destination for families, school groups, and guests as a place where lasting memories are created. This year we are striving to provide an even more impactful visit with enhanced educational opportunities. Through these offers and more, we work to ensure that everyone can connect with the people and animals that make Potter Park Zoo special. It is our hope that these connections inspire our fans to take action and support animals (and their natural habitat) both locally and across the globe!

We value you, our fans, for helping us further the Zoo’s mission in inspiring the conservation of animals and the natural world. In honor of our 100-year anniversary, we are inviting supporters to share a favorite zoo memory, write a note to a zookeeper, or share your thoughts about your favorite animal here. Simply submit your story for the zoo’s centennial celebration – we would love to hear from you.

We are grateful to be a part of the community, and thank you for your generous support!
