Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend the night at the zoo? Well, now’s your chance to find out!
The Potter Park Zoological Society Education Department offers overnight experiences to groups of 18 or more people year round. Scout groups, 4-H clubs, even school groups spend the night here either inside (during the cooler months) or outside in tents. During outdoor overnights, campers take a guided tour of the zoo and learn about nocturnal animals, have a campfire and s’mores (yum!), continental breakfast is served, and campers can observe the morning penguin feeding if they wish. The experience also includes zoo admission, so campers can spend the entire following day in the zoo if they’d like.
Saturday, August 5, PPZ will be hosting a family overnight camp-out designed specifically for families or small groups that wouldn’t have enough participants to reserve an overnight otherwise. We’ll do all the fun, exciting, and educational things that the larger groups get to do, and you get the bonus of sharing the experience with your family! We’re even going to show a recently released movie under the stars! (Please note that participants will need to provide their own tents, sleeping bags, etc. In the event of inclement weather, campers will be moved inside the education building)
Cost is $30 per person for members and $35 per person for non-members. Click here and register today!
