Fall FALCONERS Session Registration Available

We are excited to announce the registration links for the next two FALCONERS events are now available.

For our next event, we will be holding an evening experience with the opportunity to spend the night Saturday, Oct. 1.  The evening will begin with a burger and hot dog cookout, an evening guided tour of the zoo, s’mores by the campfire, and will end with a movie under the stars.  Families are also welcome to spend the night if they wish, and for those that do, a continental breakfast will be provided the next morning.

To ensure flexibility for participating families, those attending can come for dinner or eat on their own and join the other activities. Participants can leave at any time during the evening activities or are welcome to stay all night.  Those who would like to spend the night are invited to bring a tent, sleeping bags, air mattresses, etc. Camping will be set up inside the Safari Room. This will allow participants to have their own space and a bit of privacy, but still be inside where it is warm, dry, and close to the restroom. There will be a few extra tents that will be available to those who do not have their own tent.

Please be sure to fill out the form in the registration to indicate what you are planning to do so the zoo team can prepare accordingly. If plans change that is okay too! Below is an idea of the itinerary:

  • 5:45 – Families that will be staying the night can arrive to set-up their “campsite”
  • 6:15-6:30 – Families that aren’t staying the night arrive and check-in
  • 6:30 – Hot dog and burger cook out dinner
  • 7 – Guided evening tour of the zoo
  • 8 – Campfire and s’mores
  • 8:30 – movie
  • Lights out after the movie

The Oct. 14 FALCONERS session will feature a very special preview of the Boo at the Zoo event. It will take place Friday, Oct. 14 from 5 – 7:30 p.m.  The zoo will be closed to the public at this time, so participants can enjoy many aspects of the public event but without the crowds. Participants are welcome to come in costume if they wish.  We will have games, cider and donuts, animal encounters, crafts, and more!
