World Rhino Day

September 22, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

World Rhino Day - What Can You Do To Help Save Rhinos? banner

Join us in celebrating the 10th annual World Rhino Day at Potter Park Zoo!

Did you know there are only 35 Javan rhinos left in the wild? Or in 2017 there were 1,028 rhinos poached in South Africa alone? The threat of extinction is alarming as these animals are disappearing due to intense poaching.

Join us at World Rhino Day to learn about rhino conservation tables and play rhino themed games, and come see our resident (and expecting!) black rhinos Doppsee and Phineus! You don’t want to miss this event!

*Event included with regular admission*

Behind the Scenes Rhino Barn Tours! (With Tour Ticket Only)

To celebrate World Rhino Day, we’re offering special tours and a behind-the-scenes look at our black rhino exhibit. Zookeepers will guide you into the exhibit holding area and show you the work that goes into the care and preservation of these amazing animals. You might even get a chance to meet one of these rare and endangered rhinos up close! 100% of the proceeds will go to rhino conservation!

Tours are offered during 3 one hour blocks at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. You’re asked to arrive at the beginning of your block of time. The ticket selected below will indicate which hour block to arrive at.

Tickets sell out fast, purchase yours today!
