Conservation Talk: Working Dogs for Conservation

January 25, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Donation Recommended

Join us Thursday January, 25th at 6 p.m. in the Safari Room at Potter Park Zoo for a conservation talk featuring Working Dogs for Conservation (WD4C), in collaboration with the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy and the Institute for Rare Mammal Studies in Michigan.

Pete Coppolillo PhD, Executive Director of Working Dogs for Conservation from Montana, will give an overview of the amazing things conservation detection dogs do in the course of their work. He’ll touch briefly on the characteristics that make a good dog, how WD4C rescues the dogs they train, and he’ll share stories from the field.

Wildlife Biologist Dr. Patrick Rusz, the Director of Programs for Michigan Wildlife Conservancy will give an introduction.

Public is welcome! Admission is free, however we have great news to share! Potter Park Zoo is joining together in a conservation project in Michigan with the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy and the Working Dogs for Conservation Montana.

Please consider making a donation at the door for this local conservation project!
