DESCRIPTION:World Migratory Bird Day celebrates spring with the return of millions of migratory birds to their breeding areas! The zoo partners with the US Fish and Wildlife Service\, Michigan Department of Natural Resources\, Fenner Nature Conservancy and several other organizations to provide interactive stations throughout the zoo to teach you about the importance of migratory birds\, and provide fun activities for the whole family. \nWorld Migratory Bird Day is celebrated in conjunction with GLCVB’s “Be A Tourist In Your Own Town.” Admission is free with a “Be A Tourist” passport available at the zoo and many other locations in the Lansing area. \nPrice: General Admission / Free with a “Be A Tourist” passport

SUMMARY:FALCONERS “Nature Play”
DESCRIPTION:FALCONERS is designed to allow children or adults of all ages with special needs and unique challenges (such as autism or developmental disabilities) and their whole family to have an enriching educational experience in a safe\, welcoming and sensory friendly environment. There will be one sensory friendly event in Lansing\, Michigan per month throughout 2019. \nJune 22: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM  \nThe June event’s theme is “Nature Play”! Activity stations will be set-up throughout the zoo and participants can visit them at their own pace. We will have fun playing and learning in nature! From fun outdoor games\, to animal pose yoga\, and learning about how important it is to get outside\, it is going to be a great day! The zoo will open one hour early (at 8:00 AM) just for FALCONERS families\, but you may arrive later and still participate. Activities will continue until 11:00 AM\, and families may stay and enjoy the zoo for as long as they wish. \nPlease pre-register to get free admission to the zoo and access to the activities.  Light snacks will be provided. \nTo register for the Saturday\, June 22 event\, please click here.
