Sarah Foote

Animal Programs Manager

Sarah Foote has been the General Curator at Potter Park Zoo since December, 2016.  As General Curator, she manages the animal care staff and oversees the husbandry and welfare of all animals at the zoo.  Additionally, she is responsible for the development of animal care policy and procedure, as well as creating and implementing employee training programs.  Sarah is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology and has completed continuing education coursework in animal welfare and animal nutrition.  She has been with the zoo since 2003.

Favorite Animal

All of them!  But if I had to choose one, it would have to be Sivaki, our male tiger.  He was the first animal I ever hand raised as a zookeeper.

Favorite Thing about Potter Park Zoo

I love that everyone here is dedicated and passionate about the zoo and their role within our community.  Potter Park is a great place to work.
