Jennifer Horvatin

Assistant Education Curator

Jennifer has spent her career in informal education, and has been at Potter Park Zoo since 2010.  As the Assistant Education Curator she make sure the Education Department runs smoothly.

In addition to her many duties here at the zoo,  she also participates in the AZA Volunteer Management Committee and has presented at the 2016 national conference. Jennifer is Red Cross First Aid/CPR trained, and is working toward the AZA Professional Development Certification with an emphasis on Conservation Education, and just started work to get certified as an Environmental Educator.

Her professional memberships include AZA Professional Affiliate, National Association for Interpretation (member), and Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education (member).

Favorite Animal

My favorite animal is the screech owl (so little and feisty!)

Favorite Thing About Potter Park Zoo

The best part of working at Potter Park Zoo is being in the company of others (staff and guests) that love the natural world as much as I do.  Nature nerds unite!
