Did You Know?
The main threat to River Otters are water pollution and habitat destruction.
Christmas is coming and the animals at Potter Park Zoo are as excited as you are! They have been on their best behavior and can’t wait to see what Santa is going to bring them this year. The Amur tigers are hoping for some good smelling perfume. Rocky, the raven loves to do puzzles, a fun shaped Kong should do the trick. On the top of the Artic fox’s list is yummy pumpkin puree! Doppsee, the Black rhino, is hoping for a giant new ball and the penguins need a new disco ball for their next party. If you think the animals at Potter Park Zoo have been extremely nice this year then help make their holiday wishes come true!
The Potter Park Zoo Keepers created a Wish Tree where all the ornament s on the tree can be used for the enrichment program. The tree is located in the gift shop, which is open during Wonderland of Lights (Mon-Thurs 5-8pm). The items on the ornaments range from gently used to over a hundred dollars and everything in between. You can bring the item you choose back to the zoo during zoo hours, every day from 10 to 4. Every contribution is greatly appreciated!
If you can’t make it to the zoo, you can still make a contribution. Check out the Animal’s Wish List on here!
Choose an item off the list and Amazon will ship the chosen item directly to the zoo. A monetary donation is always appreciated. Just make sure to include that it is for animal enrichment when making a donation.
When you visit the zoo next year you will be able to enjoy the animals interacting with their Christmas gifts.
